Dekko's security and password paradigm

Dekko is secure by design, and places control of security and privacy in the hands of users by utilising end-to-end encryption.

What does this mean?

Your Dekko data (files, messages, meetings, contacts, etc.) is encrypted by a key that is secured by your password. The Dekko system does not have access to your password, so if you forget it, you will lose access to your data.

What can I do to protect myself?

Complex passwords can be difficult to remember, so Dekko recommends a strategy to mitigate forgetting passwords, like using a password manager. Please thoroughly research the strengths of available options to be sure that your needs are met.

Dekko also strongly recommends enabling two-factor authentication on your account for an additional layer of security. To enable 2FA please refer to our guide here.

You can also set a trusted user, which is a nominated Dekko account that you grant permission to reset your password. To set a trusted user please refer to our guide here.

I’ve forgotten my password

This guide is for email-based Dekko accounts only. To reset your corporate account password, please contact your Dekko administrator who can do this for you.

If you have forgotten your password, you must recover your account by visiting au.dekko.io/reset or by clicking ‘Recover account’ when at the Dekko login page.

Next, you’ll be required to type in the email address associated with your account, and confirm that you understand that recovering your account will delete all associated data in Dekko.

After clicking ’Proceed' you will receive an email that will contain a link to proceed with the account recovery. When you visit this link, you can set a new password for your account.

Once a new password is set, you can proceed to login to Dekko as usual by visiting au.dekko.io
