What do these buttons do?
When in a DekkoLYNX meeting, you are presented with a control bar at the bottom of the window. This controls a number of different features which are detailed in order below:
Mute All - As host, mute all participants
Group Chat - Open a chat window with all meeting participants
Screen Share - Share a window from one of your desktop applications
Disable Mic
End Meeting - Leave / end the meeting
Disable Camera
Gallery View - Switch between gallery and presenter view
Meeting Settings - View / add participants and change meeting details
Device Settings - Change audio and video inputs / outputs
Participant interface
Every participant in a meeting will have these icons displayed alongside their name. Their functions are detailed in order below:
Connection status indicator - gives you and other participants an indication of the overall connection quality of each person in the meeting
1:1 Chat button - Opens a private chat widow with you and the selected participant
Microphone indicator - indicates whether the selected participant’s microphone is enabled
Webcam indicator - indicates whether the selected participant’s webcam is enabled
Screen sharing
Screen sharing can be done be selecting an entire display or an application window.
Up to date Macs require screen recording permission is granted to your web browser before you are able to share your screen in DekkoLYNX
To enable this permission:
Open System preferences and select ‘Security & Privacy’:
Select the ‘Privacy’ tab and locate ‘Screen recording’ in the list. Tick the checkbox next to your web browser:
To share your screen:
Press the ‘Share screen’ button:
Select the share you want to do. Be sure to select the screen so that the ‘Share’ button becomes available:
Your selected screen will be shared. To stop sharing, either press ‘Stop sharing’ on the browser element, or the ‘Share screen' button again:
Meeting settings
To view or add participants while a meeting is ongoing:
Press the meeting settings button:
The meeting edit menu is shown:
In the edit meeting panel add additional users, then press ‘Save’:
Device Settings
This allows you to change your camera, microphone and audio output device.
For example, to change which microphone you’re using during a meeting, click on the ‘Device Settings’ button.
When the window appears, you can select a different microphone option (if available) from the drop-down menu:
3. The changes will take place immediately. Simply click on the 'X' at the top of the window to return to your meeting.
